Convenience Store Operators Plant Trees in Kubuqi Desert

SEOUL, Sept. 27 (Korea Bizwire)The retail industry is implementing environmental protection activities through a “Paperless Campaign” that reduces the use of paper receipts.

7-Eleven and BGF Retail Co. recently volunteered to plant trees in the Kubuqi Desert in Inner Mongolia, China.

Employees of the two companies have been visiting China and Mongolia’s deserts to plant trees since 2016 after creating environmental funds from the costs saved by not printing out receipts.

The Kubuqi Desert is the ninth-largest desert in the world, and is considered a major source of yellow dust and fine dust.
