SEOUL, Aug. 21 (Korea Bizwire) – Convenience store franchise 7-Eleven will offer a service where customers can borrow cell phone batteries at any of the 700 stores in the Greater Seoul Metropolitan Area.
By accessing Kokiri Box 2, a shared cell phone battery platform, customers can borrow cell phone batteries at a 7-Eleven store.
The rental service costs 1,500 won (US$1.30) for the first four hours, after which an additional 150 won is charged for every additional hour. Customers can return the batteries at any 7-Eleven store.
The Kokiri Box app shows the location of 7-Eleven stores where the rental service is currently available.
7-Eleven plans to test the rental service first at 700 stores in the Greater Seoul Metropolitan Area, with the aim to expand coverage to 3,000 stores across the country.
