SEOUL, June 30 (Korea Bizwire) – Convenience stores are capitalizing on the growing demand for whiskey by launching exclusive whiskey open runs. These limited-time events offer discounted prices on rare and sought-after products, enticing whiskey enthusiasts and fostering customer loyalty.
BGF Retail recently announced that CU, their convenience store brand, will host a unique “Let-Ju-Go” event on June 30 and July 1. This two-day sale of popular alcoholic beverages, cleverly named using the Chinese character “Ju” for liquor, will take place outside of Seoul for the first time.
The event will showcase notable whiskies such as The Glen Grant 21 Year Old, Hakushu 12 Year Old, Yamazaki 12 Year Old, Glenallachie 7-15 Year Old, and Balvenie 16 Year Old. CU has curated an extensive selection of rare whiskies to cater to whiskey enthusiasts.
Noteworthy highlights include the exclusive Glenallachie 21-year-old bottle priced at KRW 1.08 million, 12 bottles of Bowmore Aston Martin 22-year-old valued at KRW 740,000, and 12 bottles of Ki Won’s Single Cask whisky priced at KRW 320,000.
Responding to the surge in demand, E-Mart 24 has also ventured into the whiskey open run domain for the first time. Their three-day “Bottle Run” event will take place from June 28 to 30. Previously, CU, GS25, and 7-Eleven had organized similar events, but E-Mart 24 is now joining the fray.
The Bottle Run event will showcase 20 popular whiskies, including Balvenie 21 Year Old Portwood, Glenfiddich 23 Year Old Grand Cru, Russell Reserve Single Barrel, Yamazaki 12 Year Old, and Hibiki Harmony. Whiskey enthusiasts can enjoy exclusive deals and an opportunity to acquire their favorite bottles at attractive prices during this limited-time event.
