SEOUL, March 26 (Korea Bizwire) — With the coronavirus outbreak continuing to spread, a growing number of South Koreans are using car sharing, kickboards, and other mobility services as an alternative to the subway, buses, and other means of public transportation.
GreenCar, a car-sharing service platform, reported that weekly usage between February and March had increased by 21 percent compared to the previous month. Compared to last year, weekly usage increased by 51 percent.
Car-sharing services were used primarily on weekends. However, using car-sharing services as a means for commuting to work or going on business trips outside of town is seen to have led to higher usage.
