SEOUL, June 22 (Korea Bizwire)The coronavirus pandemic is weighing heavily on the summer holidays as COVID-19 continues to spread across the Greater Seoul Metropolitan Area.

This year, summer vacationers are opting for less populated, fresh-aired forest camping sites than beaches visited by tens of thousands of people every year.

Gosan Recreational Forest, located in Wanju County, North Jeolla Province, has been seeing reservation rates of 70 to 80 percent this month.

The forest is popular among families and couples due to its trees and valleys.
