SEOUL, Jul. 18 (Korea Bizwire) — With the competition for eco-friendly delivery heating up, Coupang Inc. has introduced electric trucks.
The South Korean e-commerce firm will deploy 10 Calmato EVs (electric vehicles) at the Coupang Logistics Service Delivery Hub in Daegu next month and is currently setting up recharging stations for the electric trucks.
The Calmato EV, made by South Korean auto-making firm Zein Motors, is an EV with a design based on Hyundai Motors’ 1-ton truck, the Porter.
Many expect that electric vehicles will soon expand in the delivery industry as businesses compete over eco-friendly delivery services.
Electric trucks will not only reduce fine dust, but also noise, fuel costs, and other harmful environmental factors.
