SEOUL, May 7 (Korea Bizwire)Outdoor activities are on the rise as the coronavirus outbreak stabilizes in South Korea, but products that help people minimize contact with others are still gaining popularity.

WeMakePrice Inc., a local open market operator, said Wednesday that sales of camping gear designed to help people to sleep in their car rose sharply in April compared to the same period last year.

These types of products, which allow people to sleep in their car without having to set up a tent, saw sales increase 636 percent, while sales of tents dedicated to camping cars rose 133 percent.

Sales of docking tents, which can be connected to a vehicle’s trunk, jumped 608 percent, while sales of refrigerators and tables for vehicles increased by 90 percent and 67 percent, respectively.

“We expect that the atmosphere of preferring outdoor activities while minimizing contact with others will continue for the time being,” a WeMakePrice official said.
