SEOUL, Aug. 18 (Korea Bizwire) — The Seoul Metropolitan Fire and Disaster Headquarters said Thursday it had established a partnership with KT Linkus, the operator of public pay phone networks, to raise public awareness about cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).
As part of this collaboration, KT Linkus will set up an automated CPR training system at various public phone booths throughout downtown Seoul.
The primary goal is to provide citizens with convenient opportunities to learn and practice CPR at their own convenience.
The automated training program includes instructional sessions lasting three minutes, an exercise mode, and a ranking mode, offering feedback based on the speed, pressure, and release applied during chest compressions.
Through this automated training program, individuals can easily follow instructional videos to gain knowledge and hands-on experience in CPR, eliminating the necessity of attending a separate educational institution or locating an instructor.
The program is set to be implemented at two public phone booths near Gwanghwamun subway station, starting in September.
After assessing program usage and user satisfaction, authorities will determine the feasibility of expanding this initiative.
