SEOUL, Oct. 25 (Korea Bizwire) — South Korean credit card companies are releasing a string of new cards targeting pet owners.
The Samsung iD PET Card, released this month by Samsung Card Co., offers a 30 percent discount of up to 50,000 won (US$34.81) per month when cardholders use veterinary clinics or pet-related shopping malls.
It also provides a 10 percent discount of up to 10,000 won per month when cardholders make payments for all kinds of non-life insurance products, including pet insurance.
KB Kookmin Card Co.’s KB Kookmin Petconomy Card enables users to subscribe to KB Insurance Co.’s pet insurance product for free.
When pre-registered pet dogs between 12 and 96 months old have unexpected injuries, users can receive an insurance payout of up to 300,000 won per year.
Hana Card Co.’s Pet Love Card accumulates 10 percent of the money spent at veterinary clinics as points that can be used as cash.
