CVS ‘With Me’ Teams Up with SM to Create Great Synergy

SEOUL, March 8 (Korea Bizwire)With Me, the convenience store managed by Shinsegae group, announced that they opened a new store in the SUM Market located in the Samsung-dong building of SM Entertainment.

The 1,161st With Me store showed record breaking sales, for the number of sales were 2.5 times higher than the average sales of other With Me stores within 5 days of opening.

Customer transactions of the store, which is the equivalent of the average amount of money spent by one consumer, turned out to be 5 times higher compared to other With Me stores.

80 percent of the customers were tallied to be foreign visitors interested in the Korean Wave.

They mostly bought the products of the private brand(PL) SM Entertainment and Emart created through collaboration. ‘EXO Jajangmyeon’, ‘TVXQ Truffle Rose Chocolates’, ‘Girl’s Generation Popcorn’, and ‘SHINee Carbonated Water’ are some of the popular products. The collaborated products took up 75 percent of the total sales of the specific With Me store.

With Me officials explained that the customer transactions are high, for foreign visitors have a tendency to buy items in bulk. “We think that the store, teaming up with Hallyu star contents and Emart’s product production, is creating great synergy.”

The SUM market located in the new SM Entertainment company building got its name by putting a ‘U’ between ‘SM’, meaning ‘SM together with U’. The SUM market takes place in the basement floor of the building, and is selling hallyu star goods such as T-shirts and posters.
