DAEGU, Aug. 28 (Korea Bizwire)The city of Daegu plans to use so-called ‘untact’ (contactless) means to hold a half-marathon race.

Daegu’s Dalseo District announced Thursday that it will hold the Untact Dalseo Half-Marathon Contest from Sept. 27 to Oct. 17.

With an annual festival held every September, race organizers needed to come up with new ways to cope with the coronavirus.

The ‘untact’ marathon allows participants to run a designated distance (half marathon, 10 kilometers, 5 kilometers) at a time of their choice.

Participants can submit their running record to the host organization using a smartphone.
