SEOUL, Jan. 3 (Korea Bizwire)A Siberian tiger that passed away from natural causes at Seoul Grand Park has returned as a taxidermied specimen.

Gangsan, a female Siberian tiger that was born at Seoul Grand Park in 2005, passed away at the age of 15 in 2019.

The tiger went through a six-month taxidermy process to be used in educational programs, posing as if it is sitting on Cape Burkhan in Siberia’s Lake Baikal.

“It was a quite difficult task to taxidermy a crouching tiger with its hind legs closely pulled in,” said Yoon Ji-na, Seoul Grand Park’s taxidermist.

The specimen sought to embody the tiger’s youthful days, capturing the tiger’s fearsome, roaring face with tipped ears, revealing its sharp teeth.
