SEOUL, Jan. 14 (Korea Bizwire)A South Korean construction company has launched an inter-floor noise notification system as a way to prevent disputes over noise between floors.

DL E&C Co. said Thursday that it had developed an inter-floor noise notification system that can notify the occupants of inter-floor noise and provide objective data.

When vibrations above a certain level are detected through sensors installed in the walls of the living room, a notification is sent automatically to the wall pad and mobile devices.

If the noise between floors of an apartment building exceeds 40 decibels, a standard set by the Ministry of Environment, the noise notification sounds an alarm of caution. When the noise level exceeds 43 decibels per minute on average, it sounds a warning notification.

The inter-floor noise notification system can detect heavy impact sounds generated by a person’s footsteps or running, as well as light impact sounds such as the sound of a chair being pulled or the sound of an object falling to the floor.

Since the sensors are located in the wall rather than the floor or ceiling, the system is easy to install and maintain.

The inter-floor noise notification system can monitor how much noise is generated during a specific period of time, while enabling comparison with the degree of noise generated by other households.
