SEOUL, Aug. 15 (Korea Bizwire) – In a blend of corporate social responsibility and patriotic observance, Domino’s Pizza marked Korea’s Liberation Day by distributing free pizzas to staff and visitors at the Daejeon National Cemetery on August 15.

The pizza chain deployed its food truck, known as the “party car,” to the cemetery, which serves as the final resting place for numerous Korean independence activists and war veterans.

A Domino’s representative explained that the gesture was meant to express gratitude to those paying respects at the cemetery and to the staff maintaining the grounds.

This initiative is part of Domino’s ongoing social contribution efforts, which involve using food trucks to deliver pizzas to various communities in need.

Last year, the company provided pizzas to the Ministry of National Defense’s remains excavation and identification unit, and in June of this year, to a military unit in Paju.

Coinciding with the Liberation Day holiday, Domino’s also announced a promotional offer for its online customers.

From August 15 to 18, all registered members on Domino’s digital platforms will receive a 50% discount coupon applicable to any medium or large pizza for takeout orders.

“We chose to deliver pizzas to the visitors and staff at the Daejeon National Cemetery to commemorate Liberation Day and honor those who sacrificed for our country,” a Domino’s spokesperson said. “Moving forward, Domino’s plans to consistently develop various support activities for all those who dedicate themselves to our nation.”
