SEOUL, Korea, Jan 13 (Korea Bizwire) - The beautiful exterior of the Dongdaemun Design Plaza & Park, a new landmark to be built in Seoul’s downtown, has been unveiled to the public. The building is famous for being designed by the world-famous architect Zaha Hadid. The Seoul Design Foundation said on January 10 that it has revealed the design plans for the Dongdaemun DDP that will be open on March 21 this year.

The 29-meter seven-story building (including three basement floors), whose total floor area is 86,574 square meters, will offer five different spaces for different purposes including learning, fashion information, design transaction, and the historic park. The Seoul Metropolitan Government has spent a total of 484 billion won in building it.

The inspiring hub provides an important link between the contemporary culture, historic artifacts, and emerging nature at the center of Dongdaemun. In addition to the learning center for design professionals and the general public, the landmark will offer an urban oasis for leisure, relaxation, and refuge, its continuous landscape promoting fluid thinking across all design disciplines.
