WESTLAKE VILLAGE, Calif., Nov. 13 (Korea Bizwire)Eta Compute Inc., a company focused on delivering next generation autonomous  intelligence to mobile and edge devices, today announced it has appointed Dr. Narayan Srinivasa as Chief Technology Officer (CTO). Dr. Srinivasa reports directly to Dr. Gopal Raghavan, Eta Compute’s president and CEO.

“With more than 20 years of experience in machine learning, including neuromorphic systems, Dr. Srinivasa is an exceptional addition to Eta Compute’s management team. Dr. Srinivasa was the natural choice for Eta Compute given his experience in research and development of both machine learning and neuromorphic architectures and their applications,” said Dr. Raghavan, “I’m delighted to officially welcome him, and I look forward to his contributions to both our technology and customers.”

Eta Compute’s power efficient Delay Insensitive Asynchronous Logic (DIAL™) signaled the company’s first step toward enabling intelligence for embedded systems and devices. As CTO, Dr. Srinivasa will drive the evolution of the company’s machine learning expertise to take advantage of this platform.

“With the extraordinary low power of DIAL Technology, we can develop efficient processors that will enable machine intelligence for mobile and edge devices,” said Dr. Srinivasa.

Prior to joining Eta Compute, Dr. Srinivasa worked with Intel Labs as Chief Scientist and Senior Principal Engineer, leading the work on neuromorphic computing. Prior to that, he was the Director for the Center for Neural and Emergent Systems at HRL Laboratories in Malibu, Calif where he served in various capacities over an 18-year period including the Program Manager and Principal Investigator for several DARPA programs including SyNAPSE, Physical Intelligence and UPSIDE programs. Dr. Srinivasa has 51 issued patents and 60 patents pending. He has published over 90 articles in peer-reviewed journals and presented at innumerable conferences. Reports about his work have also appeared in top magazines including The Economist, MIT Technology Review, Wired, Forbes, Science, IEEE Spectrum, and IEEE Control Systems among others.

“With Dr. Srinivasa on the Eta Compute team, we will accelerate our plans to bring machine learning to the edge,” said Lip Bu Tan, Chairman of Walden International and an investor in Eta Compute.
