CHANGWON, Jan. 5 (Korea Bizwire) — Birds are suffering from drones flying over the Junam Reservoir, a migratory bird habitat in Changwon, South Gyeongsang Province.
According to the city government, some citizens are flying drones over the reservoir to observe the habitat of the migratory birds, thus posing threats to them.
During this season, tens of thousands of migratory birds inhabit the reservoir and neighboring farmlands.
The very audible noise generated when drones fly can disturb the rest of the migratory birds, and there is also potential for drones to collide with migratory birds in the sky.
Accordingly, the city government decided to launch a campaign to discourage the use of drones around the reservoir by putting up banners against drone flights.
