CHANGWON, Feb. 3 (Korea Bizwire)It has been confirmed that the number of eagles visiting South Gyeongsang Province to winter this year has increased by more than 100 compared to previous years.

The increase is the result of the suspension of feeding programs in Gangwon and Gyeonggi provinces to prevent the spread of African swine fever (ASF). Hungry eagles are now traveling further south to find something to eat.

Every winter, 2,000 eagles leave Mongolia to fly to Korea, and move on in the early spring.

Furthermore, there are 500 to 600 eagles staying in Goseong County, South Korea’s largest wintering place for eagles.
