SEOUL, Jan. 9 (Korea Bizwire) — Seoul’s Seocho District announced on Wednesday that 149 eco-friendly buses equipped with fine dust filters began operation this month.
The buses are equipped with fine dust filters that reduce the amount of emissions consisting of fine dust.
The district reported that the filters led to the reduction of 2,721.6 grams per square meter, based on a series of test drives conducted last year.
Filters attached to 149 buses are equivalent to 8,892 5-year-old trees filtering fine dust, the district explained.
Among 149 buses, 127 of them have been equipped with additional air filters in the internal circulation system.
