SEOUL, July 9 (Korea Bizwire)The Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency’s vaccination response team has signed a business agreement with the Korea Smart Healthcare Association and local IT firm Simplatform Co. to launch a pilot program for safe and efficient vaccine storage and management at medical institutions.

Under the agreement, authorities will monitor the temperature of the refrigerators at the hospitals responsible for vaccination, and will strengthen the accident prevention forecast service using an intelligent Internet of Things (IoT) integrated cold chain service.

After selecting 150 medical institutions that have reported vaccine temperature deviation accidents, the team will inform their vaccine managers via a text or phone call about the circumstances of the accidents, including temperature deviation, through a central control system.

The team also plans to introduce a new service that can prevent cold chain accidents by using IoT or artificial intelligence (AI) to analyze and detect vulnerable time and changes in storage temperature.
