SEOUL, Oct. 18 (Korea Bizwire) A new program allows fliers who need special care to avoid standing in a long line to check in or out at the main gateway in Incheon International Airport.

The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport announced that it would run a pilot scheme, also known as a fast-track service, for the disabled, the elderly, pregnant women and children younger than seven years, starting from October 18, the opening day of the Incheon 2014 Asian Para Games, during rush hours between 8:00 am and 10:00 am at the airport.

Even though those who are qualified to enjoy the pilot service is restricted to passengers who need to be taken care of, those who are designated as good taxpayers, who work for specially-designated companies, who hold a Commercial Important Person card and foreign investors can also benefit from an official service starting from November.

After the expanded service is available, the time for pre-flight pat-downs that the fliers should spend is expected to be saved by 30 percent on average and up to 40 percent more than usual. The time that ordinary passengers have to spend will also be saved by 8 percent.

Fliers who want to enjoy the service can be invited by their airlines to get a Fast Track Pass card. Both the card and a passport will be necessary to immediately check in or out at the East Gate of the airport.
