GOKSEONG, Nov. 13 (Korea Bizwire)A special publication ceremony was held at a rural elementary school in which all of the students participated.

Samgi Elementary School in Gokseong County, South Jeolla Province, recently held a picture book publication event, with all 33 students participating in the publication.

The school has been working on a project called “I Can Become a Writer” with Yoon Mi-kyung, a fairy tale writer. Students have compiled works written and drawn over the past year and published them in one book each.

About 50 teachers, parents and other people attended the publication ceremony to share the students’ works and celebrate.

The students came forward one by one to introduce their favorite scenes from their picture books.

In particular, Kim Seung-chan, a student who wrote a picture book, signed a formal publishing contract with a publishing company.

“I think the book fits the purpose of the project to support children’s ingenious imagination, so I decided to publish it officially,” a source at the publisher said.
