SEOUL, Korea, Sep 09 (Korea Bizwire) – Energizer Korea said on September 8 that it held the previous day a tree-planting event at Haneul “Sky” Park near the Seoul World Cup Stadium in west Seoul. As part of a wider campaign “That’s Positive Energy” to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and green the environment, the company gathered together a hundred participants who will join the October 12 “Energizer Night Race 2013″ marathon and carried the volunteers to a tree-planting site nearby in electric carts.
The location in which the trees were planted was named the “Forest of Positive Energy” and will provide shades and fresh air for Seoul citizens. The participants, most of who came to the site with their families, planted two trees per person on average.
Kicked off in 2009, the Energizer Night Race has grown into one of the largest night marathon races in Korea with more than 10,000 runners participating. The company said it will keep working with the Seoul city government every year to expand the forest-making event further.
