YONGIN, March 30 (Korea Bizwire) — Everland amusement park in Yongin, Gyeonggi Province said Tuesday that it will issue non-fungible tokens (NFTs) during the period from April 2 to 6 to celebrate the 30th anniversary of its tulip festival.
The Tulip NFTs will come in 11 different types featuring both aesthetic value and scarcity based on Everland’s tulip character ‘Tulie’ that was developed in the 1990s.
Everland’s tulip NFTs will be sold through Klip Drops, a digital art and NFT distribution service offered by Ground X, from April 2 to 6.
A total of 330 NFTs, 30 of each type, will be issued as limited editions through Klip Drops, and they will be sold at a fixed price of 50 to 70 KLAY on a first come, first serve basis.
KLAY is a cryptocurrency based on the blockchain platform Klaytn developed by Ground X. 1 KLAY was valued at 1,475 won (US$1.22) at cryptocurrency exchange Bithumb as of Tuesday.
In the meantime, Everland, which recently formed a partnership with a blockchain service platform PlayDapp, plans to show off an Everland metaverse within the first half of this year.
The Everland metaverse will be established in the virtual playground PlayDapp Land that was released in Roblox, an U.S.-based metaverse platform.
A variety of real-like content, including about 40 types of Everland’s popular attractions, performances and experiences will be created as NFTs.
