YONGIN, Dec. 3 (Korea Bizwire) – Everland, operated by Samsung C&T Resort Division, will launch its much-anticipated Wintertopia festival on December 6, transforming the park into a Nordic-inspired winter paradise.
Running through March 3, 2025, the festival invites visitors to experience a magical blend of seasonal attractions, cultural events, and family-friendly activities centered around the beloved Finnish character Moomin.
The highlight of Wintertopia is a 9-meter-tall Moomin sculpture at the park’s entrance, offering a charming first impression for guests. Designed with soft fabric, the massive figure captures the endearing essence of Moomin while adding a warm tactile element.
Nearby, 4-meter-tall sculptures of Everland’s twin baby pandas, Louisbao and Huibao, create additional photo opportunities, cementing the festival as a hub for Instagram-worthy moments.
The centerpiece of the festival is the Four Seasons Garden, reimagined as the Nordic Forest, a snowy recreation of Moomin Valley. Adorned with birch trees, evergreens, and whimsical snowdrifts, the garden features interactive installations and character photo spots, including fan-favorites like Moominpappa and Snorkmaiden.
On weekends, Moomin-themed events, such as train rides and walking character photo sessions, will bring the storybook charm to life.
Moomin enthusiasts can explore exclusive merchandise and Nordic-inspired culinary delights at the garden’s Memorial Shop and Garden Terrace Restaurant.
In January, the park will debut a Moomin multimedia show that combines vibrant visuals, fireworks, and special effects, marking a first for South Korea.
The festival also celebrates Nordic culture with collaborations tied to Finland. A Finland Boarding House pop-up, based on the upcoming tvN series featuring actors Lee Je-hoon and Cha Eun-woo, will offer immersive experiences such as recreations of Finnish country life and interactive displays.
From December 6 to 8, an official Santa Claus from Finland’s Rovaniemi village will visit Everland to meet guests, pose for photos, and distribute gifts. Visitors can also participate in a raffle for a chance to win round-trip tickets to Finland, courtesy of Finnair.
Winter activities abound with a reinvigorated Snow Buster sledding area, enhanced by Moomin-themed decor and characters. Meanwhile, the Dreaming Butterfly Garden provides a warm indoor escape, where over 4,000 butterflies from six species flit through a lush environment.
For those seeking festive cheer, daily parades and live performances, including the Bling Bling X-mas Parade and the Very Merry Santa Village dance show, will immerse visitors in holiday spirit.
At Caribbean Bay, Everland’s adjoining water park, the winter season brings the Winter Spa Cabi concept. Guests can unwind in outdoor hot spring baths or enjoy a Finnish-style sauna introduced near the Adventure Spa area.
To enhance the experience, Moomin-themed decor and photo spots have been incorporated throughout the water park.
For families and adventure seekers, Everland offers a Two Park Promotion from December 6 to March 3, allowing visitors to explore both Everland and Caribbean Bay in a single day.
With its captivating blend of Nordic aesthetics, interactive exhibits, and seasonal festivities, Wintertopia promises an unforgettable winter adventure for visitors of all ages.
