SEOUL, May 14 (Korea Bizwire) — The amusement park Everland’s Safari Bus has officially retired following 45 years of service.
The retirement ceremony was attended by children, lot winners from social media, former zookeepers, and Everland staff.
Participants hung hand-written letters and flower necklaces on the Safari Bus to send it off on its final journey.
Everland opened in April 17, 1976 in Yongin, south of Seoul and celebrated its forty-fifth anniversary this year.
The park introduced the Safari World Wild Tram on Friday to allow visitors to observe wild animals more closely than the Safari Bus.
The Safari World Wild Tram is a sports utility vehicle (SUV) connected to two tram cars that can accommodate as many as 56 people.
The tram’s observation window is a 20 mm-thick, five-layer bulletproof glass that uses polycarbonate, which is 150 times stronger than tempered glass.
