SEOUL, March 16 (Korea Bizwire) — The Korean Wave is sweeping across Europe.
A research team from the Korea Europe Center conducted an online survey of 34 experts on Korean studies from 19 universities and research institutes across 19 European countries including Britain, Germany, and France, on each country’s public perception towards South Korea.
The Korea Europe Center was jointly established by the Institute of Korean Studies at Freie Universität Berlin and the Korea Development Institute.
Among the respondents, 70.6 percent believed that Korea’s modern culture is popular in their country. Two experts from Britain and one expert from Romania, in particular, said that Korean culture is exceptionally popular in their country.
At 94.1 percent, the vast majority of respondents expected that Korean culture will gain popularity in their respective countries. Another 85.3 percent of the experts said Korean culture is especially popular among young generations.
