SEOUL, Dec. 5 (Korea Bizwire)Mike Figgis, an English film director best known for his work on “Leaving Las Vegas,” a Hollywood film that was nominated for two Academy Awards, will be directing a movie in Korea.

Once the project is confirmed, Figgis will be the first famous western film director to shoot a film in the Korean language in South Korea.

“Compared to China or Japan, Korean filmmakers have an international outlook and Korean films are full of energy,” said Figgis.

The film currently in the works is a thriller featuring a female lead. According to the storyline, the female character is kidnapped by a psychopath before losing her memory.

The movie will focus on what happens after she regains her memory 10 years later.
