SEOUL, April 1 (Korea Bizwire) — Online shopping malls specializing in women’s fashion are going beyond fashion to tap into demand for beauty and lifestyle products.
Zigzag, a fashion platform run by Kakao Style Corp., opened up a ‘beauty section’ on Friday where it sells beauty products.
The ‘beauty section’ introduces more than 200 beauty brands that sell skincare products, color make-up, body treatments, perfumes and beauty devices.
The beauty section, which first opened for testing in November last year, has seen transaction volumes jump by a factor of 10 since the first month of operation, Zigzag said.
Shinsegae Group’s online fashion platform W Concept introduced a lifestyle section where it sells various home appliances, digital and home-related items, travel packages and pet goods.
W Concept saw sales in the lifestyle category jump by more than 120 percent between 2020 and 2021, leading the company to include more brands and bolster marketing this year.
The platform also plans to recruit additional imported lifestyle brands and digital home appliances and engage in collaborations with various brands.
