SEOUL, March 9 (Korea Bizwire)Companies utilizing so-called “FemTech” or female technology to offer gender-related information and medical services to women are on the rise.

My Own Room, an app developed by startup AROOO, specializes in offering gender-related information to women. The app is exclusively available for women, in which members can share their knowledge about a variety of gender-related issues.

AROOO staff create content based on expert publications and literature as well as consultations with gender minority activists and instructors.

The app exceeded 10,000 members last September after 12 months of service. As of this February, a variety of content on AROOO has garnered more than 300,000 views in total.

The app helps women suffering from various gynecological conditions to consult doctors, look up and make reservations at specialized hospitals.

Dr. Bella was released in August 2020 and has more than 15,000 members. The company said the app is used primarily by the younger generation, in which 30 percent of app users are teenagers and 50 percent are in their 20s.
