SEOUL, May 20 (Korea Bizwire) — The Seoul Metropolitan Fire and Disaster Headquarters said Thursday it will establish a disaster response digital platform using big data and artificial intelligence (AI) technologies.
The new platform will be responsible for integrated management of the headquarters’ administrative information, while providing a digital information service for emergency rescue and on-site response.
As the first step in this move, the fire authorities will set up a big data center that will be in charge of managing emergency rescue dispatch and administrative information.
Three-dimensional maps of the indoor structures of facilities vulnerable to disasters will also be created. These maps will be used by emergency rescue workers to save lives on site.
The disaster response digital platform will be fully established next year by integrating on-site response systems which are currently operated separately.
In addition, an algorithm will also be developed to provide guidance on the course of preventive patrol by analyzing disaster-vulnerable hours.
By 2026, the fire authorities will develop a fire administrative service for citizens using AI chatbots and a big data-based automatic response system (ARS) and a social data-based disaster response prediction AI analysis system on a gradual basis.
