SEOUL, Jan. 21 (Korea Bizwire) — SM Culture & Contents, an advertising affiliate of South Korea’s biggest music label SM Entertainment, will showcase the country’s first vehicle-aware outdoor advertisements along with online shopping mall 11th Street.
Through a vehicle-sensing camera installed in front of the billboard, the camera recognizes the approaching vehicle from a distance of 170 meters and displays selected ads when the vehicle passes.
The campaign can be seen on digital billboard on Olympic Boulevard, which is the busiest among the nation’s highways.
When delivery workers pass the outdoor advertisement, the message “Thank you always to the parcel delivery workers who drive on Olympic Boulevard from early morning” appears.
The campaign is designed to deliver a message of appreciation to hard-working parcel delivery workers, who are working day and night as the popularity of dawn and same-day delivery has surged.
In addition, delivery personnel are facing an increased workload ahead of the Lunar New Year holiday.
