Flying Around Pyeongyang: The New Way to Tour North Korea

SEOUL, Nov.11 (Korea Bizwire)A tourist package that provides an aerial tour of Pyeongyang has been launched.

The Swedish travel agency ‘Korea Konsult’ (www.koreakonsult.com), which caters to tourists wanting to visit North Korea, made an announcement on its homepage that it is providing foreign tourists who visit North Korea with a special opportunity to enjoy sights of Pyeongyang from the sky, from November 8.

Korea Konsult explains that the ‘Pyeongyang Sightseeing Flight’ starts at the Pyeongyang International Airport, circling over the Daedong river, Street of Youth, Duru Island, Street of the Future Scientist, Juche Idea Monument, Kim Il-sung Square, Workers’ Monument, May 1 Stadium, Mirim Horseriding Course, and back to the airport.

The tour package is available only on Sundays and national holidays. Airplanes for 40 passengers, helicopters for 10 passengers, and light planes for 2 or 4 will be put in service to provide a 40-minute flight above Pyeongyang.

‘Chosun Today’, the foreign propaganda website of North Korea, also introduced the package, advertising the great service and exquisite cuisine.

Previously, Young Pioneer Tours, a Chinese travel agency specializing in North Korea, also announced that it had released a Pyeongyang tourist package that includes a helicopter tour of Pyeongyang.
