JINAN, June 1 (Korea Bizwire)A baby flying squirrel, an endangered species that was found in a deserted building, recently returned to the wild after receiving medical treatment.

Officials in North Jeolla Province said that two flying squirrels were found in a soon-to-be-demolished building in the southwestern county of Jinan last month.

The squirrels had just been born, and were too young to open their eyes. They were found huddling in a corner of the building.

The North Jeolla Wild Animal Rescue Center brought them to a local care facility. Unfortunately, however, one of the two squirrels died due to bad health.

The remaining squirrel was also facing deteriorating health, but soon recovered thanks to the center’s ceaseless care and medical treatment.

The center, believing that spending too much time with humans may deprive the squirrel of its wild instincts, decided to release the squirrel back into the wild.
