SEOUL, Aug. 24 (Korea Bizwire) – Jung-A, a former member of the K-pop girl group Afterschool, will marry pro-basketball star Jeong Chang-young next year, her agency said Thursday.

BAM Company said that the wedding will take place on April 28. “The two had a good relationship with each other and it developed into love. They have dated for about a year,” the agency said.

It added their families recently had a meeting and that they decided to hold the wedding ceremony in April because Jeong is scheduled to return from off-season team training in January.

A rumor about their relationship first emerged in 2015 but they immediately denied it.

Debuting in 2009 in Afterschool, Jung-A left the team with the expiration of her contract with the band’s agency. She signed up with BAM Company in February and is preparing to work as an actress and emcee.

Jeong has been a guard on the Changwon LG Sakers since 2011.
