SEOUL, Nov. 8 (Korea Bizwire) — A district court in Changwon issued a sentence of three months and an additional probational period of one year to a 21-year-old man who was found guilty of insulting two army female supervisors during his military service.
During his tenure as a non-commissioned officer within the Korean army, the serviceman made verbal comments that degraded the character of two separate female officers – a first lieutenant and a captain.
The man reportedly used vulgarities as he expressed contempt for working under the women.
Despite the prison sentence, the judge deferred imprisonment of the defendant, noting that he had expressed regret for his words and that the plaintiffs did not wish for him to be punished.
