YONGIN, Sept. 7 (Korea Bizwire) — On September 7th, the “Fu Bao is Three” emoji, featuring Everland’s beloved giant panda Fu Bao, quickly rose to the number one spot on KakaoTalk’s overall emoji popularity ranking just one day after its release.
This emoji, serving as the “second season” to the previously popular “Fu Bao is now one year old” emoji launched in 2021, encompasses 24 cherished scenes from Fu Bao’s life, showcasing his growth as a three-year-old panda and even heartwarming moments with his zookeeper.
Since its release at 10:30 a.m. the day prior, it has not only dominated the overall popularity charts but has also garnered the top spot among users of all age groups, spanning from teenagers to those in their forties.
Moreover, Season 1 of the Fu Bao emoji, “Fu Bao is One Year Old,” which debuted two years ago, currently holds the second spot on the popularity list, affirming the enduring appeal and “comeback” of Fu Bao’s popularity.
“In response to the recent surge in public interest surrounding Fu Bao, we decided to create Emoji Season 2 based on the numerous requests from our devoted fans,” expressed a representative from Everland.
“The fact that both emojis have secured the first and second positions in popularity demonstrates that the ‘Bao’ family is cherished by individuals of all generations, not limited to a specific age group.”
