SEOUL, Feb. 25 (Korea Bizwire) — G-Dragon of K-pop boy group BIGBANG is set to release his first solo full-length album in 11 years Tuesday.
“Ubermensch,” due out at 2 p.m., is the singer-rapper’s third studio album, with his last being “Coup D’etat,” which came out in September 2013.
The title of the new album came from the philosophy of Friedrich Nietzsche, referring to the ideal individual who transcends conventional values and societal limitations, according to Galaxy Corporation.
Through the album, the singer-songwriter aims to showcase a stronger, more resilient side of himself — one that has overcome his own challenges, the company added.
The album features eight tracks, including the lead track “Too Bad” and B-sides, such as “Power” and “Home Sweet Home,” which topped local music charts upon their prerelease late last year.
“Too Bad” is an upbeat track featuring American singer-songwriter Anderson Paak.
K-pop girl group aespa’s Karina made a special appearance in the music video for the song.
G-Dragon will kick off his new solo world tour next month in Goyang, just northwest of Seoul, on March 29-30.
