With the exact model numbers of the glasses worn by the Olympic stars being identified and the information spreading rapidly online, Fantom Optical has revealed it has been flooded with requests for shipments from stores that are five to six times higher than before the Winter Games began.

Saying that the specific models are already sold out, CEO Jang Yong-chan stated that the company’s production lines are running at full capacity to meet demand.

The proprietor of the glasses store in Daegu where the bespectacled members of “Team Kim” made their purchases said that Kim Seon-young was first to buy.

After snapping up the glasses last June, she later returned to the store with Kim Eun-jung and the rest of the curling team.

Fantom Optical’s Jang said the company would be willing to provide the women’s curling team members with a free lifetime supply of glasses and sunglasses if they wanted.
