General Hospital Heads Get COVID-19 Vaccines to Speed Up Inoculation Process

SEOUL, March 10 (Korea Bizwire)Heads of general hospitals in Seoul are stepping up as early recipients of the coronavirus vaccine to speed up the inoculation process.

Gangnam Severance Hospital Director Song Young-goo became the first healthcare worker at the hospital to receive the AstraZeneca’s COVID-19 vaccine on Tuesday. “This is how we reassure both patients and staff,” Song said.

Ewha Womans University Medical Centre gave vaccines to 1,200 people at Mokdong Hospital, and 1,300 people at Seoul Hospital.

“Vaccination will invigorate our medical staff who have fought at the frontlines against the pandemic,” said Yoo Kyung-ha, director of Ewha Womans University Medical Centre.

The Catholic University of Korea Yeouido St. Mary’s Hospital also plans to vaccinate 948 people by next Monday.

“Healthcare workers stepping up to receive vaccinations will help us obtain herd immunity against the coronavirus, and treat patients more rigorously,” said Moon Jung-il, president of Yeouido St. Mary’s Hospital.
