SEOUL, Dec.21 (Korea Bizwire) – The Seoul branch of Korea Federation of Small and Medium Business announced that it will operate a Christmas market at Seoul Square from December 21 to 24. A total of 250 small and medium-sized businesses will participate.
Handmade goods and souvenirs will be sold. A share of the profits will be donated to charity.
A ‘Food Truck Bazaar’ will provide free food to those in need, and various performances will take place everyday.
Christmas markets originated in 14th century Germany, when local merchants sold handmade goods and food before Christmas.
Park Seung-chan, head of the Seoul branch of the Korea Federation of Small and Medium Business, commented that the goal of the event was to share love on Christmas, even though small businesses had a hard year due to the economic slowdown in Korea.
