PYEONGCHANG, Feb. 14 (Korea Bizwire) – Olympic sponsor Coca-Cola’s giant vending machine in Gangneung is proving to be a hit attraction in its own right, with Korean celebrities making pitstops at the commercial landmark to bid South Korean athletes good fortune.
Model Han Hyun-min and archery duo Jang Hye-jin and Choi Mi-sun – two-thirds of the gold medal winning women’s archery team from the Rio Olympics – made visits to the towering red Coca-Cola dispenser.
Born to a Nigerian father and a Korean mother, the dark-skinned Han Hyun-min has earned the informal title of “South Korea’s first black model”, and was named to Time Magazine’s “The 30 Most Influential Teens of 2017”.
Those staying in Seoul can drop by the popular neighborhood of Hongdae to gain entry into a giant Coca-Cola building that offers various amusements on every floor.
The Gangneung vending machine will be operational throughout the remainder of the Winter Olympics (closing on Feb. 25) and through the 2018 Winter Paralympics (March 9 to 18).
