GIMHAE, Jan. 10 (Korea Bizwire) – The city of Gimhae in South Gyeongsang Province has announced the launch of its newly revamped multilingual website, starting this month, to better serve the city’s large foreign population.

Gimhae, home to over 20,000 foreign residents including foreign workers and multicultural families, ranks as the city with the highest foreign population in the province and the ninth highest nationally.

Previously, the city’s website relied on automatic translation tools for text translation across all pages, which often struggled with image-based text and inaccuracies. To overcome these limitations, the city undertook a comprehensive overhaul of its website.

The upgraded service now includes professional translations in five languages: English, Chinese, Japanese, Vietnamese, and Uzbek. The city collaborated with professional translators to ensure accurate and culturally appropriate content.

The foreign language section of the website features essential information for foreign residents in Gimhae, such as emergency support programs, garbage disposal guidelines, and citizen safety insurance. Additionally, it provides diverse information about Gimhae’s historical sites, cultural events, cuisine, and local products for both domestic and international visitors.
