SEOUL, Oct. 2 (Korea Bizwire)The South Korean Cultural Heritage Administration announced yesterday that it will be screening a video that features food dishes similar to those served during a western-style banquet hosted by the imperial family during the Great “Daehan” Korean Empire, the nation that followed the Joseon Dynasty while serving as a precursor to the current South Korean nation.

The video is expected to be screened today at the dining hall situated on the first floor of the Daehan Empire History Museum inside Seokjojeon at Deoksugung Palace.

The video clip measuring 3 minutes and 50 seconds in length was produced by the Cultural Heritage Administration last year in association with Shinsegae Chosun Hotel, Baewha Women’s University and National Trust Korea.

The video features historical resources and the re-creation of food and dining mise-en-scène that had been the practice during an era when Emperor Gojong would host banquets for foreign dignitaries, allowing viewers to have a better understanding of the royal dining culture of 120 years past.
