SEOUL, May 27 (Korea Bizwire) — Google CEO Sundar Pichai expressed deep admiration for South Korea’s role in global technology innovation and reaffirmed the company’s growing partnership with Korean firms, including Samsung Electronics, in a wide-ranging interview with Korean YouTuber Jocoding released Tuesday.

In a nod to the traditional Korea-U.S. alliance motto, Pichai cheerfully declared, “Korea AI, let’s go together”, underscoring his commitment to deepening collaboration in the AI era. His remarks come on the heels of Google’s announcement at its annual I/O developer conference in Mountain View, California, revealing a joint smart glasses initiative with Samsung under the project name “Project Infinity.”

“Korea has always led the way in embracing new technology,” said Pichai. “Every time I visit, I’m amazed. It’s a truly remarkable country.”

He highlighted ongoing efforts to integrate real-time voice translation into Google Meet and Android XR systems, saying, “I look forward to a future where I speak in English, and Korean subtitles appear live.”

Speaking on the smart glasses collaboration with Samsung, Pichai described the partnership as seamless: “We’re working like a single team to deliver the best possible experience. I’m excited about what this means for the Korean market.”

Pichai also shared his personal use of Gemini, Google’s advanced AI model, describing it as a kind of “super assistant” he interacts with daily. “It’s like having a creative partner who helps me think,” he said.

Looking ahead, Pichai emphasized the broader potential of AI agents, which he believes can enhance productivity and creativity across sectors. “Whether you’re a scientist using an AI co-scientist or a creator with a digital partner, this is a vision that can transform every field.”

Responding to questions about how AI may reshape traditional search engines — Google’s core business — Pichai remained upbeat. “We’re seeing users ask broader, more complex questions. The scope of what people try through search is expanding, and that opens up tremendous new opportunities,” he said.

With both technological ambition and cultural fluency, Pichai’s message signals not just a strategic alignment, but a deeper commitment to forging an AI-powered future with South Korea at its core.
