SEOUL, Nov. 20 (Korea Bizwire)Exuberant celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay visited the Conrad Hotel in Yeouido on November 18, where he extolled the virtues of Korean beer, in particular Cass, for which he is a celebrity endorsement model.

Ramsay, who described himself as a fan of Korean cuisine since more than fifteen years ago, said, “Cass has a truthful quality to it that is simple and balanced.” The British chef went on to say, “From a chef’s honest point of view, Korean beers like Cass are the most perfect complement to Korean cuisine.”

When informed that foreign media had rated South Korean brew to be of poor quality, Ramsay went on the defensive, pointing out that foreigners may not be aware of the cohesion between South Korean food and beer. “Cass is tremendous. There is no need to pay attention to foreign media’s reviews,” Ramsay said.

A memorable case of a foreign journalist being displeased with the local beer was when Daniel Tudor, a correspondent for The Economist, rated North Korean beer to be of superior quality. Tudor referred to the dismal quality of South Korean beer as a consequence of existing regulations that inhibit smaller breweries from entering the market.

Ramsay, the famously outspoken restauranteur with 16 Michelin stars to his credit joked that he would “kick [Tudor’s] ass” if he ever ran into the journalist.

Beyond promoting Cass, Ramsay also spoke about the potential for Korean cuisine to become internationally recognized and his thoughts on opening up a restaurant here.

Saying, “Korean food is more than good enough to capture the hearts of the world,” Ramsay also expressed his hopes to one day open a South Korean location.

“South Korea is fresh and filled with hard-working people which I think is similar to me, so in the future opening up a restaurant here would be one of my dreams as a chef,” he explained.

Just like Jackie Chan, really hoping that Gordon Ramsay will appear in one episode or two of Running Man, involving buying/collecting/harvesting for food ingredients and cooking.

    What I can imagine:
All of them being scolded harshly.
Even Jong Kook scared out of his senses because Gordon Ramsay has a Black Belt in Karate, I think, and he’s not afraid.

And then Gordon Ramsay personally tastes the food they make. Either criticizing them harshly or giving them tips on how to make their food taste better and then personally handed the prize to the winner. I hope they will make this episode come true.

Or even them Running Man members going overseas to do an episode or two in the US where Gordon Ramsay live at.
