SEOUL, July 5 (Korea Bizwire)The Ministry of Economy and Finance on Tuesday announced plans to promote tourism to foreigners as part of its economic policy for the latter half of the year.

As part of the program, 700 round-trip flight tickets will be distributed both online and offline to attract more foreigners to visit South Korea.

The program will also introduce various K-stopover tourism packages for foreign travelers with layovers of less than 72 hours at Incheon International Airport.

Additionally, it will expand guide programs for foreigners interested in night tours at popular palaces such as Gyeongbok and Changdeok.

Furthermore, the program includes support for the opening of a resort complex on Yeongjongdo Island by the end of this year. Additionally, a K-road show will be held in New York and Los Angeles to promote tourism in Korea.

To enhance convenience for foreign tourists, the government will enable taxi hailing through foreign hailing and tourist apps. Moreover, foreign credit cards will be accepted as automatic means of payment.

The Super Rapid Train (SRT) high-speed railway service recently launched a reservation system that accepts overseas and foreign credit card payments.

Express bus operators will also collaborate with global travel platforms to offer reservation and payment services.
