SEOUL, July 12 (Korea Bizwire)The Ministry of Food and Drug Safety said Monday it will introduce a rapid inspection system to address the blind spot in the inspection of residue pesticides that occurs during the distribution process of the fast-growing dawn delivery agricultural product market.

The inspection of the safety of agricultural products, in general, takes several days as it goes through the processes of collection, transfer, analysis of residue pesticides, and notification of the results.

With the online sale of agricultural products, however, fruits and vegetables are delivered to consumers before their safety is confirmed.

The ministry plans to operate the dawn delivery agricultural product inspection system on a trial basis until November. Under the new system, the entire process from collection to notification of the results will be completed within a single day.

The ministry said that businesses participating in the trial program are actively cooperating in the rapid collection of samples, and are delaying delivery until the inspection is completed.
