Goyang City‘s AI Care Call Service Generates Positive Feedback

GOYANG, July 28 (Korea Bizwire)The artificial intelligence (AI)-based care call service for elderly individuals living alone, offered by the city government of Goyang, just northwest of Seoul, has received praise from its recipients.

A public health center in the Deokyang district in April launched the AI-based Clova Care Call service to prevent accidents and mitigate solitary deaths among vulnerable households, particularly the elderly living alone.

The service entails making a weekly call to the care recipients, during which the AI engages in conversations about meals, sleep, and health to assess their well-being.

When any signs of risk are detected, care service workers are promptly dispatched to provide necessary assistance.

As the AI service asks questions and continues conversations by posing further inquiries after receiving answers, it effectively serves as a conversation partner.

Based on a survey conducted by the public health center with 100 users, 78 percent of the respondents expressed satisfaction with the service, while 73 percent reported that it significantly contributed to their physical and emotional well-being.
