SEOUL, Oct. 6 (Korea Bizwire) — Major oil refiner GS Caltex Corp. said Tuesday that it will join hands with global furniture giant Ikea’s Korean unit to begin a pick-up service at one of the company’s gas stations in Seoul’s Gangnam district.
If an Ikea customer selects a nearby GS Caltex gas station to pick up his/her delivery, Ikea will send the ordered item to the gas station where the customer can pick it up.
The price of delivery is cheaper than Ikea’s standard delivery cost at 19,000 won (US$15.89).
GS Caltex also plans to work with other businesses in need of warehouses in dense urban areas to rent out storage spaces or provide a shared warehouse-based pick-up point service where the company is delegated with certain retailing processes.
